Ashuris are allowed to breed with each-other even if they are both of different animals & sub-species. The breeding of different animal ashuris results in a hybrid ashuri which is known as a "SHIRI". There are also ashuris that have bred with other mythical creatures known as "YOKARI" and just like a cross-breed between a human, breeding with another mythical creature than their own is considered taboo. Ashuris are more easygoing when it comes to Yokaris, but mythical creatures don't take it as lightly.
When the offspring of two ashuris are born, their curse mark appears once they reach maturity (between ages 10-13). There are rare cases where the curse mark appears right after birth. Whenever the child receives the curse, their lifespan gets cut down in half, so it's up to the ashuri parent(s) to provide them with life essence. The parent would have to extract their own life to give it to them since the ashuri children are unable to fight or protect themselves without proper training. If the child of a human and ashuri is born, there is a 50/50 chance that the child will inherit the ashuri's traits and curse.
Since ashuris are somewhat immortal they do not show signs of old age. Their ageing usually stops after reaching adulthood, and because of the spell that ashuris did to humans they don't question the aging of ashuris. But because of the curse, there are mysterious "mutations" that happen to ashuris; there are ashuris that do grow old, either normally or in a rapid-state. There are also ashuris that are stuck as "children" and do not age but still have a childish mindset. Reasons as to why these mutations happen are unknown.
